Come learn to do gymnastics on horseback. This clinic is for beginning to advanced vaulters. Vaulters will learn to improve their seat, sense of balance, and ability to move with the horse. Besides vaulting during the day, participants will attend workshops given by clinicians from the West Coast and Canada. Workshops will include choreography to music, barrel work, gymnastics, creating a kur, and teamwork on a horse. Appropriate videos will be shown throughout the clinic.

These vaulting clinics are taught by Tamea Denault, the coach of the Emerald City Vaulters. Workshops will be given by Nancy Stevens-Brown, the President of the American Vaulting Association (AVA). Choreography workshops are given by Tames Alan, a retired professional dancer and choreographer. Each morning will start with an hour of yoga taught by a local teacher, followed by an hour of ballet bar taught by Katie Wild, professional ballerina. Vaulters will also participate in an hour of gymnastics taught by a professional gymnast before breaking for lunch. The afternoon is spent on the horses and in the barrel room. The Emerald City Vaulters will provide several trained vaulting horses that add their own teaching skills to these clinics.

Cost for this five-day clinic is $350.00 USD. Vaulting camp is a day camp that runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Arrangements can be made for early drop off or late pick up. Overnight home stays with local vaulters can also be arranged.

Some scholarships are available.
