Summer Camps at Dreamswept Farm

Come ride a curly horse with us this summer.

Summer camps and clinics coming soon after we are settled in our new location.

Please note: campers must attend Camp 1 or have prior approval from Tamea Denault in order to attend Camp 2

Summer camp at Dreamswept Farm is more than just riding horses. Campers will not only ride twice a day, they will attend many workshops to improve their knowledge about horses and their care. Campers will be assessed by Tamea Denault on the first day of the camp, then assigned horses and divided into groups according to skill level. After being shown how to care for their horses, they will be responsible for them for the rest of the camp.

Campers will learn about plants poisonous to horses, horse diseases, and have a visit with a veterinarian and a farrier. Campers will learn how to longe a horse; identify colors, markings, and breeds of horses; tie knots; and identify and care for equipment.

Besides riding twice a day, campers will learn to vault, build and ride an obstacle course, play various games on horseback, have a workshop on the different styles of riding, and go on trail rides.

Cost for this five-day camp is $250.00 USD. Cost for attending both Camp 1 & 2 is $450.00 USD. Summer camp at Dreamswept Farm is a day camp that runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Arrangements can be made for early drop off or late pick up of campers. Campers may bring their own horses or use one of the schooling horses. If a camper brings his own horse, there is no charge for using a stall during the camp provided you bring your own food. If you wish the staff at Dreamswept Farm to feed your horse, the cost will be $50.00 USD per week.

Some scholarships are available.
