Horse Management Clinics at

Dreamswept Farm

Come ride a curly horse with us this summer.

Summer camps and clinics coming soon after we are settled in our new location.

This horse-management clinic is for adults who wish to learn about equine management with a holistic approach to care and riding. The clinic will focus on training, first aid, equipment and herd management. The clinic features riding twice a day as well as many workshops and videos.

Participants will be assessed by Tamea Denault on the first day of the clinic, then assigned horses and divided into groups according to skill level. After being shown how to care for their horses, they will be responsible for them for the rest of the clinic.

Some of the workshops given will cover choosing the right horse for your lifestyle, care and management of equipment, trailer safety, horse diseases, plants poisonous to horses, and equine first aid and what to put in a home vet box.

Participants will learn about breeding and reproduction and herd psychology with observation in the field. They will have hands-on experience working with young stock, learning to round pen and longe, tying knots, and how to perform an emergency dismount and other safety concerns.

Appropriate videos will be shown at lunch each day to augment the day's workshops.

Besides riding twice a day, participants will build and ride an obstacle course, learn to vault, go on trail rides, and learn different styles of riding.

Clinics are taught by Tamea Denault, a CHA-certified instructor, and owner of Dreamswept Farm.

Cost for each clinic is $300.00 USD. Particpants may bring their own horses or use one of the schooling horses. If a particpant brings his own horse, there is no charge for using a stall during the clinic provided you bring your own food. If you wish the staff at Dreamswept Farm to feed your horse, the cost will be $50.00 USD per week.

Some scholarships are available.

For additional information or an application, contact Tamea Denault at 509-738-2077 or at tdenault@oz.net.
