Where are you located? 10828 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW, Suite 212
That's in the Clover Park Professional Bldg. on the corner of Gravelly Lake and School Streets (directly across from Clover Park HS)
Your office hours? Monday-Thursday:  Noon to 9:00 PM
Fridays appointments by arrangement only.
Who do you see? Couples, individuals and families.
Are there people you won't  see? Basically, we just don't take cases where anyone outside the room has a stake in or gets a report of what our clients say!  That's anyone referred by the courts or seeking therapy to remedy a legal problem.  Likewise we will not be involved in any child custody or "fitness" determinations.   Sadly for a lot of people this must also include HMO's and insurance plans.  And lastly we do not see minors without their families.
What do you charge? We are now charging $75.00 per hour long session.
That seems like a lot for one hour! For some people it certainly would be.  Most of our clients don't think so however.  It would be  high for "counseling" but we do psychotherapy which is more intensive.  We are also one of only a handful of practices who still offer this kind of treatment.  Psychotherapy cost $60 a session in 1980, so you can see we've kept our fees as low as possible.
How often do you meet with
someone?
The usual scenario is once a week.  Meeting more frequently doesn't give someone enough time to "process" what's going on and waiting  longer than a week usually results in everyone (us included) forgetting where we were!
How long does therapy usually take? It takes as long as it takes--everyone is different. Couples therapy is usually the shortest but not always.
Is this the kind of therapy where I
lay on a couch and you take notes?
We seldom take notes during sessions, and if you want to lay on a couch you'll have to bring your own!  ;-)
