Emilia was born 28 February, 1864 in Gilly (Charleroi), Belgium, the daughter of Emile Jean CHAUSTEUR and Celinie Virginie ANDRISSE. She had two brothers and no sisters. In 1881 her brother Victor married Elvire L. DALLONS. Four years later, on 23 Feb, 1885, Emilia married Elvira's brother, Francois DALLONS. They had their first child, Jules, while in Charleroi. Her husband found work in a glass factory in Orestes, Indiana. Emilia emigrated to the United States in about 1890, several years after her husband. Her brother Victor and sister in law, Elvire also immigrated to Orestes along with several other relatives. Emilia's mother Celinie moved to Orestes after her husband Emile died in 1897. Francois went to California in 1906 in search of work, leaving Emilia in Orestes. Her son Victor left to live with his father the following year. Emilia was in poor health and in and out of hospitals in Ohio and Pennsylvania. She suffered from mental breakdown. Her husband Frank died in 1912 and Emilia moved to California to take care of her son. She died 13 May, 1943 in Stockton California, USA. |
