Assimilating into U.S. society while at the same time preserving the best of  religious and ethnic traditions has never been easy for Muslims in America. Our challenge is made all the more difficult by the lack of Islamic institutions and social centers where our people might congregate and grow stronger as a community and as individual followers of Islam. In the Pacific Northwest the American Moslem Foundation has established just such an organization. It is the stated objective of the AMF to develop facilities which will lend themselves to strengthening the fabric of Islamic culture in our region and throughout the United States. American Moslem Foundation has established the House of Mercy Project which has two facilities: 1. Dar-o-Rahma All-Muslim cemetery and 2.the Specialized Instruction School. This project can serve as a "model" for other Muslim foundations through out America who are trying to preserve their religious heritage and identity. Our Dar-o-Rahma cemetery, Specialized Instruction School and other programs are designed as "model projects" , which if successful, can be implemented in other parts of the U.S. to provide a center for community and tradition for thousands of Muslims who find themselves far from their native lands. It is anticipated that AMF may develop other projects in the future as needs arise. The AMF needs your support to ensure the success of these projects. The American Moslem Foundation is a registered, non-profit charitable organization. Membership fees and all donations are tax-deductible. There are three ways to become involved with the AMF: Becoming a Member - Those who would like to support AMF on a continuing basis including financial support. Becoming a Donor - Those who would like to make a one-time or periodic financial contribution. Purchasing Burial sites - Those who would like to secure a burial site for themselves or their family. All data is held confidential by the American Moslem Foundation . The financial records of the AMF are open to the public. Annual Progress Reports are also distributed to the membership and donors.
