Woke up to find that my throat's a little better, but now I'm starting to cough up phlegm. Good thing I've got these antibiotics. The prescription says to stay out of the sunlight when taking these. Can't do that, because I have to buy a few things.
Rented a bicycle at around 8 o'clock after some breakfast. Reached the Fur & Silk Market in a roundabout way. Already, I was feeling awful. I bought 3 bolts of silk @ 5m lengths each. Decided to ride out to the Friendship Store by the CITIC building. Bought some detergent for hand washing and some glue for the stamps in Mongolia. By the time I rode back to the hotel, I felt like shit. Bought some water & yoghurt in the lobby. Took a Tylenol and went to sleep.
Beijing is a huge, huge city. When I say that I don't mean skyscrapers, but the sheer space. Everything is spread out, the streets are wide, the blocks are massive. Tianenmen Square is huge, Qianmen Gate is enormous. Beijing makes you feel small.
Got my passport back, complete with Mongolian visa. Well, it starts tomorrow. Finally.
I enjoyed my stay in Beijing even though I caught an 'upper respiratory infection'.
