Another day has begun. The sky looks clear. I doubt it will rain.

I hope that we hit some real flat steppeland today.

Well, I'm settled down in my ger at a non-Juulchin tourist resort. It's rather nice, nestled in a pine forest (with lots of mosquitoes). We will stay here tomorrow and see the sights of Gurvan Nuur.

The drive was long, but when we got to the Onon River I was not tired, because this is where Chingis Haan came from! Went down to the river bank and ran the water of the river through my hair. Chingis Haan.

Next, we took a real ferry across the Onon. First, we had to honk our horn so that the ferryman could hear us (his house was several hundred meters away, but in view). Finally, he came. It was very exciting to watch. Since the water level was low we went down a log ramp and then the ferry was pulled across by a cable. Then it was back up the log ramp to the riverbank. Reminded me of the movie "Outlaw Josey Wales".
