Got up early, had a quick breakfast, and left. It was a real cloudy, rainy day, today. Met my interpreter, Battoyaa. She's very nice. We talked for an hour while the last of our supplies were collected. Then we were off.
We drove from Ulaanbaatar to Ondorkhaan. It was a long drive and we made several stops. At first, it was rainy, but by the time we stopped for lunch at a ger, it had stopped.
When we got into Ondorkhaan it was night and past 10pm. All the hotels were closed, so we stayed at a youth hostel. No bathrooms, but at least a bed.
We have a good driver, but riding in a jeep on dirt roads does not allow for much of anything, except watching the road. But it is less painful than horseback riding.
I just remembered that when Mongols want their horses to drink, they lead them to a stream and whistle between their teeth. When the horse hears this, she'll start to drink water.
