I paid the remainder for my Hentii trip. As it turns out I think I received a good price. It will be about a 1,000 km with an interpreter, driver, jeep, tent, and food. The going rate for long distance trips is about US$0.50 per kilometer. I'm satisfied.

I finally found the red phrasebook. I also bought a map of Mongolia in English, a Mongol script dictionary and a dictionary about Chingis Haan. It all came to a total of US$6.

For the last few days the trees have been shedding wispy, white, cotton-like 'puffs'(?) all around. Sometimes, it's really thick (when windy), but usually it's just two or three in your face at one time. It's like little feather balls.

Again, it's been another cloudy day.

Finished 'Smoke Ring". It was good. Now I'll start on "Little Prince". The latest five day tour group has returned from Terelj.

I hope Enkhwayar shows up tomorrow. Be nice to see a familiar face.

By the way, when wearing a dehl the belt (sash, actually) or buus is wrapped low and wide for men. Also, when wrapping the buus around one must keep one's shoulders up. This is done to insure that when completed the top of the dehl hangs prominently over the buus. The wider a buus is wrapped, the more manly. Women wrap just the opposite: no overlap and thinly wound.
