Welcome!

This site has been set up to give you some current information on the West Coast Trail (WCT) on Vancouver Island in British Columbia as of summer, 2001. It's also intended to give you a perspective of what its like to do the trail, what kind of physical shape you should be in, what to wear, carry, and generally what to look forward to.

Note: we did the trail from the south to the north. See the Daily Diary area for general information and pros and cons to this approach.

As in all personal choices pertaining to the outdoors, the opinions and guidance provided on this site are for your interpretation. You have the final choice on how you do this trail and how you should be safe. The most important part about the WCT to me is the beauty of this part of BC. Enjoy your trip.

Big logs, big ladders, big bogs, big beaches. This was one awesome trip with lots of challenges and loads of things to see and do.
