I work as the Chief Engineer on a containership that trades between the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. We make the trip through the Gulf of Alaska year round, and keep the fiercely independent residents up there supplied with groceries, clothing, cars, furniture, and anything else needed by Alaskans to get them through the long winters and sunlit summers.
A two sentence description of me:
A lover of fun, baseball and good food, Family Man, Merchant Marine Engineer, gardener, builder, dabbler in most of the modern technological hobbies. A sometime poet battling my 50's waistline with long distance bicycling and a reluctant goodbye to rich foods.
In the beautiful port city of Seattle. I live in the heavily Scandinavian settled neighborhood called Ballard. Ballard is known for its working harbor full of fishing boats, Norwegian delicacies such as Lutefisk, and a recent visit from the King and Queen of Norway.
