  Training

We provide training, lessons, consultations, and breed certifications at our farm. It is our passion to teach owners how to understand the horse and its gaits and we take pride in our amateur rider program. Our goal is for the horse to be as happy as its owner with an emphasis on natural training methods.

The number of horses in training are kept low to ensure quality time can be spent with each horse and rider.

Indoor Arena Please contact us to make an appointment or check for available openings.

Training Facility
We have 14 matted stalls, a 65 x 144 well lighted indoor arena, and a round pen. Training takes place both indoors and out to give the horses exposure to a variety of surroundings.

Our Skills
Rick and Kim have been studying and riding a variety of gaited horses in both the show ring and the trails for over 11 years. While this experience has helped us learn and refine our techniques, it has also taught us what "not" to do when training a gaited horse. We don't use short cuts, gimmicks, or excessive hoof lengths/angles to enhance a horse's gait. We take the time for each horse as an individual to develop good habits. Our training is based on Clinton Anderson natural horsemanship and basic dressage. We have found this to be the best combination to effectively communicate with the horse with positive results. The horses are much happier, perform better, and true partnerships are created between horse and rider.

How You and Your Horse Will Improve
We take our training seriously and require owners to also participate in the learning process. This helps ensure that effective communication and riding aids are understood and are clear between horse and rider. Our training includes 4 lessons each month so the owner and horse learn together to create a willing partnership.
