Aged To Perfection & To Cart or To Basket That is the Question

Went to the grocery store last night. People are so rude and have no respect for their elders. This is a subject that just jerks my chain.

There was an aged to perfection woman in one of the aisles. She wanted a bottle of pop that was on one of the top shelves. Not an easy task when you are only about 5'2". There were easily about 8 other people on this aisle and it was real obvious what she wanted. Not one of them stopped to help her. I worked my way don and helped her out. She was so appreciative and thankful.

We must have the same mental road map of the store because I kept running in to her. We chatted along the way and I found out that she was completely excited that her Granddaughter was coming to visit with her 2 kids. It turns out that her Granddaughter was the same age as me. She was really nervous because she wanted the Great grandkids to think she was cool and not a fuddy duddy. She wanted to get snacks and drinks that they would like. She was a riot. After I helped her poll a few Moms and kids she had her cart full and she was more relaxed and ready to enjoy her visitors.

We went through the checkout counter at the same time and she made sure to wait for me to thank me once again. I got the biggest hug and then the smile of all smiles swept across her face.

There is a lot to be said about getting to know your neighbors even if they are only in the same town.

I credit T. & B. for showing me how to be not so shy. B. reminds me a lot of T. and sometimes makes me sad 'cause I miss T. a lot. They are very different, but yet, similar in many ways. I am very, very lucky to have both of them in my life. Talk is cheap but my heart will tell you the truth. JB you are definitely on this list too! But you... Well you are... A FLIRT to boot!

Well on that note I implore any poor sucker reading this drizzle to do one, yes at least one, random act of kindness. What a more pleasant planet this would be. You would be surprised at what kind of impact you can have on someone else not to mention yourself and your own psyche.

Pushing my cart through the aisles of my life.  Till next time.
