Finally... Sleep!

I finally got some sleep last night and woke up in a really good mood. The kind of mood where you go outside first thing and see the sun and the grass while listening to the birds and don't get the urge to strangle the little buggers for making so much noise!

Even the drive to work was good. The lake was beautiful today. No lines at the latte place. Just walked right and got my latte before I even finished paying. I managed to get a lot done at work today and feel back in the swing of things.

Lunch was spent running to go get my passport. I was quite happy to get the whole process done with since I am cutting it close before my trip. Great drive there. It is Seafair time here in the Seattle area and the Blue Angels were out practicing while I was heading out. Got to watch a couple of the maneuvers while I was on my way. Right as I was getting back they started more practices and buzzed the building where I work. This loud thunderous sound ripping overhead as two of the jets crossed each other at low level. It was pretty cool.

I remember a couple of years ago at Seafair they had the stealth bomber at the show. That was almost creepy flying over the house. This huge shadow which crossed over the house as it flew over. For the most part though Seafair is one big block party of drinking and eating on a floating neighborhood of boats or on the shores of the lake.

It is a great thing to do and can be lots of fun. As a long time resident though, you end up going only once every few years. It is fun but it is so much work and takes so much time to recover that you won't end up doing it the next year. In fact sometimes a few years till you forget what a pain it was and how crappy you felt afterwards.

Needless to say this is a year I am skipping.

Talked to my friend today and needless to say she is just as excited about meeting up for my vacation as I am. Boy my cel bill is going to be pricey. I spent an hour on the phone with her. There are just some people that I just truly enjoy talking to and she is one. Her daughter is just a cutie pie. I love hearing her on the phone. Her little voice is just too cute for words.

Well time to cap off the day with a nice hot bath.

Till next time.
