The Deep Stuff - Free Form Rant and Observations.
Well with all the running around and post Thanksgiving day hype it still doesn't feel like Xmas is right around the corner. To top it off it is actually sunny here today. I have a lot of stuff to do and running to do again today. At least the holiday stuff is already getting done. I baked and made goodies yesterday to get a jump on the whole thing. Between that and the shopping almost done it feels good to get ahead of the holiday game. I think tonight I will finish wrapping the stuff that I have already gotten. I should probably clean my house but after cleaning at the place I have been housesitting at I really don't feel like it.
I keep hearing Xmas songs on the radio and even though it doesn't feel like the season has started it is at least a good way to start getting in the mood. It really seems out of place still but hopefully after a few needed days at my own place the season should kick in.
I was so tired of baking and smelling chocolate last night I went out for dinner. I went to the first place I could find since I was not familiar with the area I was staying in and it happened to be a Mexican joint. I hung out in the bar (I hate taking a table in a crowded restaurant when it is just me, besides I could drink and smoke). Unfortunately, it was also karaoke night. At least it wasn't in French. Now you have to know that I am sitting in a little corner all by myself, looking like crap, smelling like chocolate and busy eating when this group of guys come up and wont take a hint that I am in to being by myself and just hanging out listening to bad karaoke and laughing at them. You would think that totally ignoring them and shooting "don't bother me looks" would get rid of them. Wrong! They actually were fighting over which of their business cards I would take. Needless to say the busboy got some phone numbers that night. On top of that they took turns singing songs and dedicating them to me. God help me I almost threw up.
Anyways back on track now I hope that the airport isn't completely *f'd* up with all the holiday travelers and WTO in town and all. I think I will also do a nice hot bath after wrapping presents. I can't wait to be at home and sleep in my own bed. Well got to run to the airport now to pick up a friend.
